Meta has announced that Meta Horizon Managed Services (HMS), the platform used to manage VR headsets at scale, will be free to use through 2030.
There is one critical condition.
All devices must be enrolled before 20 February 2026 to secure free access.
Important: Tethered VR Users
If you currently run VMC simulations with your headsets tethered to a PC, nothing changes. This update only affects standalone VR users who run VMC applications directly on the headset without a computer.
If you are satisfied with your current PC-linked workflow, no action is required.
